Murray's hypothesis of rural cults hiding within national religion makes a lot of sense, it's really plausible, which is maybe why it's so frightening in horror? (I am not saying I believe it actually happens, just that it makes for a more thrilling horror story because it requires less suspension of disbelief.)

Got to admit I was nervous going into this video, but you seem to deal with this sensitively and interestingly. Thank you.

One of the main tactics used by 1930s Nazi propagandists was disguising their racism within allegoric works of art, so that it would bypass people's defences and make its way into their subconscious.

If Lovecraft intended a racist allegory, it's important that we know that in advance of being exposed to his works, so that we don't fall for it.
