why do magic the gathering cards say deckmaster
@RikerGoogling because that's how they were first printed and now they can't change it because all magic cards have to have the same backs for rules reasons I think
@Nat @RikerGoogling Yes, "Deckmaster" was a brand WotC were publishing multiple TCGs under (RAGE! for Vampire: The Masquerade, Jyhad for Werewolf, Netrunner for Cyberpunk), but they abandoned the overarching "Deckmaster" brand before they brought out by the Pokemon TCG. For the longest time MTG rules relied on all card backs being the same to ensure cards couldn't be identified ahead of time, but these days with "Double-Faced" cards and sleeves being common it's not so important.

@RikerGoogling the idea was that each expansion would have a different back, but with the Deckmaster brand to tie them together.
@lovestha @RikerGoogling not just expansions, but games. The original CCG version of Netrunner also had "Deckmaster" on the back, even though unrelated to MTG (besides the design team/publishers)
