@TechConnectify @Bryan @scott Except it wasn't. I replaced a mid '90s F-*250* - what was considered a "heavy duty, full-size" with what is now considered a "compact" truck - a Rivian R1T.
The Rivian is bigger in every exterior dimension.
The current Ranger dwarfs the mid '90s F-150. Heck, the *subcompact* Maverick is bigger than some configurations of mid '90s F-150.
@TechConnectify @Bryan @scott My point is that the "classes" have grown significantly. What used to be a "full size" truck is now a "subcompact".
F-150 has always been considered "full size."
The modern Maverick is "subcompact" but is bigger than the smallest mid '90s F-150, with higher cargo capacity and tow capacity. If Ford had released it in 1995, it would have been a "full size" F-250 competitor. (Other than in bed length.)
@ehurtley I came out of a grocery store a few weeks ago with a Lincoln Navigator parked behind me. The top of that urban assault vehicle's bonnet/hood was 2" lower than the rear liftgate spoiler on my B9 A4 allroad. What the actual?
