I've started making a very simple hat - my second project ever, first time using double crochet. I'm very happy with how it's going so far! 😁

This is one of the most spectacular sunsets I ever saw while working at ESO's Paranal Observatory in Chile.

The Atacama Desert is extremely dry, but clouds do show up sometimes. That day there were several dark clouds releasing very light rain that vaporised before reaching the ground. These wispy veils (called "virga") were lit by the golden sunset light, creating a lovely contrast with the blue sky above.

If you need a break for a moment, here are some iris photos from our neighborhood walk this morning.

Yeah you.

Stop scrolling for just a second (really that’s all).

Take a deep breath.

Exhale slowly.

Do that once or twice.

Ok that’s all thank you. Please remember to take care of yourself tonight.

eye contact, cat

I got some great pictures of Lu today while playing with his worm on a string 🐛

Why did you end up coming to Mastodon? Pls boost so we can get some good data 🙌

forcibly befriended by the neighbours' #cat in my garden

i crouched down to look at the pond and it immediately climbed on me, i ended up covered in damp paw prints because it's been drizzling 😭

Honestly I think everyone should stop and think about gender and what makes them their gender, not cause they think they're trans or should be, but because it's good to dismantle this stuff and figure out what it means for you vs what society tells you it is

Which one do you use most?

Reply to explain. Boost for bigger sample.
(Sorry for the edit. I put metatext too.)

Rather than being at work, it would be great to lingering by this stream in the Peak District, but one can dream!

These were taken in late March on a lovely walk.

One of the unexpected joys of the fediverse over other places is the addition of weird domains appended on to everyone's usernames.

It makes the web feel like more than just four websites again.

It's both a signal of a smaller more intimate internet and also a larger and far more diverse internet at the same time!

Neurodiversity-affirming counselling has helped me realize some things.

I spent years thinking:
"I'm broken because I can't do that."
"I'm failing at fixing myself to be able to do that."

But what actually works for me is asking: "What are the conditions necessary for me to be able to do that?"
