Also, what about bugs that exist in theory but no one run into yet?

It definitely feels nice to write down things somewhere so you can forget about it for now.
How is everyone else dealing with this?

I still wonder if you should take a note of every nice to have thing you come across (in the form of a TODO comment or an issue) or if you should just forget about them and the high-value ones will be obvious and come up again automatically...

Oh yes, welcome to Germany πŸ‘‹

One more reason why Crux from @juxtpro@twitter.com is very exciting!
A schemaless, document store with datalog as query language allows working with graph data in pretty elegant ways.

Hot take: software really big blind spot for hierarchical data, in that we don't have any great ways of representing it besides emulating it via text... unlike other structured forms of data, like tabular, relational, and graph data twitter.com/jeremyjkun/status/

EDN is one way to solve the problem. Best of both worlds :)

One thing that bothers me about modern software is how everything is crammed into json or yaml like parsing isn't a completely solved problem.

Ergodicity is a great word to learn. Also, I am much clearer now why averages are so often misleading. Not just relevant in economics but many other scenarios.
Thank you @ole_b_peters@twitter.com!

This! And also not only for hiring but basically anything you are doing in life.

RT @x0pherl@twitter.com

@lhochstein@twitter.com I do a lot of coaching and mentoring around hiring. I've learned that pretty much anything about your background will be hated by some and loved by others. As far as I can tell the best counter is to sell a story about how your career prepared you for the job you're applying for.

With the current Big Corp trend all places are pretty soon 3rd-world on these terms.

Show thread

The term 3rd-world came from NATO as 1st, Soviet as 2nd and the rest as 3rd world.
More fitting in nowadays world is to see 3rd-world as a description of a country where everything is run by a 3rd-party and neither the people, nor the government of that country.

There is no good guy in this game.

β€œβ€™Belief can be manipulated. Only knowledge is dangerous.’”

Unfortunately this is not 2020's fault and will become the norm. We better be prepared, plus do something to stop this from getting more extreme.
