The Mac mini’s 200W PSU is gorgeous. Has horizontally placed components that go through the PCB to reduce z-depth (we saw this first on Studio Display).

Stunning.

Update: 12.6*12.3=154.98
Don’t ask Siri to do math for you.
It’s 150W PSU. Not 200W.

@snazzyq It looks beautiful and yeah, i like the aesthetic very much too

but now imagine how hot and sexy it would be to have schematics and easy access to components when you need to replace them 🤤

@snazzyq Did they list 200W somewhere? Math on your picture says about 150W.

@paul Wow look at that. I said “about 150W” on video and then asked Siri when I was putting it back together and it said “199.7” and I thought: “crap, I’m gonna have to correct that.” Seems my head-math was right! 😂

@paul 12.6*12.3 is indeed 154. I can math.

@snazzyq beautiful. Can’t wait to get mine later this month. Super curious about the replaceable SSD hoping that someone figures out how to flash them appropriately so we can upgrade them.

@snazzyq I always liked that mac mini didn't come with an external adapter. kudos to apple for sticking with the design.

@snazzyq looking forward to your review. Very interested to know how that cooling system performs under prolonged load. The tight packaging and stacking of boards could mean it throttles like a laptop? But that cooling system looks pretty fancy, so maybe it’s enough?

@snazzyq for all their faults, they still design a hell of a pcb.

@snazzyq Amazing what a trillion dollar corporation that doesn’t pay taxes can do.

@snazzyq I am always impressed by Apple’s power supply A-game. And inevitably disappointed by the laziness of other companies, who basically make their otherwise lovely products suck because they include a huge brick-on-a-cord. LG Cinebeam Q, I’m looking at you.
