the idea that you can be a “former racist” implies that like, you were a racist, learned better and then stopped being racist. but from one white person to another lemme tell you -
you will never stop unlearning racism. you will never have a day where you can hang up your hat and say “i’m done! i am no longer racist!”
you have no fucking idea how deep this shit goes. I DO NOT KNOW how deep this shit goes. don’t get too fucking comfortable.
@masueh oh yeah i know what you mean, i'm trying to read for fun as much as possible before i start taking litersture courses because i'm sure i'll barely have time for any other reading then
@masueh oh i feel that, i bought this book over a year ago and never got round to it until now 🤡 i do hope you read it though
@masueh it revolves around a few characters and their relationships with each other. it's very contemporary and fun to read! they have a better description here though: https://www.waterstones.com/book/conversations-with-friends/sally-rooney/9780571333134
@masueh Sally Rooney's Conversations with friends just about to finish it though and then i think i'll start reading Normal People by the same author
i'm probably mainly just shitposting and talking to myself on here but hey it's what i do best • 21 • nonbinary lesbian • finnish language student • FIN/ENG
