A conservative think tank has submitted a shareholder proposal to Apple to end its DEI programs. Apple has asked its shareholders to vote against the proposal because
“At Apple, we believe that how we conduct ourselves is as critical to Apple’s success as making the best products in the world.
..
And we strive to create a culture of belonging where everyone can do their best work.”
Well done, Tim Apple.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
@ohmu @carnage4life hello. Can you unpack what you mean by this, a bit? Thanks.
@ojwh
Me or Dare?
@ohmu hi. You Weird Socks. Thanks.
A bunch of big companies announced they are going to be as bigoted as Chick-Fil-A. This is new, weird, and probably unnecessary even given the political climate.
Except Tim Cook.
He said Apple will continue modes of doing business that have been normal practice for decades. It's not heroic. Mr. Cook donated to Trump alongside everyone else
But, with every other org falling over themselves, it looks like heroism to just say "That's alright. None for me, thanks."
@carnage4life I'm reminded of this confrontation from 2014:

@carnage4life @nazgul Former Apple employee here; can attest to this being an accurate reflection of the company vibe. AFAIK, this is what they truly think.
@carnage4life this is the same Tim Cook who donated 1M$ to the inauguration of the First Felon.
And yet…
