Sequoia 15.2 issue that affects SuperDuper:
Apple's replicator is broken in the public release of 15.2: it fails, on most systems, with a "Resource Busy" error at the very end of replicating the data volume of an OS drive backup (likely when it's going to copy Preboot/Recovery).
We've reported this via Feedback - FB16090831 - if there are any Apple folks out there who could boost its visibility.
The workaround, for now, is to use "Backup - all files" with "Smart Update” which - as always - copies everything but the OS (Applications, settings, data, etc).
The OS can *ONLY* be copied with the (broken) replicator.
@dnanian
I really, really appreciate you and all the folks trying to keep whole-system backups working in the face of systems being ever more locked down!
And I do appreciate the security measures (the vast majority of them, anyway) that are causing these problems in the first place. But I do wish Apple had their eye a bit more on the ball dealing with these implications.
@inthehands @dnanian I absolutely 100% agree with Paul here!
@inthehands They care mostly that Time Machine works…and it doesn't replicate the OS.
The tools they provide for us are low priority, unfortunately.
