ITV I'm A Celebrity's Nigel Farage caught on tape talking disparagingly about 'Black Africa'
Farage is a racist. There’s a surprise.

@therightarticle Oh I just assumed he was.
@therightarticle I don't have to switch on ITV to know that. Farage is on my personal mute list, I don't need the aggravation of hearing his voice
@therightarticle when xenophobia is your bag, racism is your jam
@therightarticle he has no place on an ‘entertainment’ show transmitted at prime time. He’s making scurrilous statements that are demonstrably untrue with absolutely nobody challenging him. Should he ‘win’ the programme will be finished. With that in mind I am somewhat conflicted……
@therightarticle
The appearance of controversial and unpopular politicians on popular TV shows should ring alarm bells, there is another famous case of a ridiculous buffoonish politician appearing on a popular show (Have I Got News For You) making an idiot of himself then soon after made mayor of London then PM.
Send in the lions!
@acesabe @therightarticle
Appearing on HIGNFY gave Johnson popular appeal. I don't think he'd have become PM without it.
@Sarahw
As bizarre as it may seem, it's true, marketing is a strange practice seemingly based on the "any publicity is good publicity" principle. Trump surely must be conclusive proof of that.
@therightarticle
@acesabe @therightarticle
True, but I think it was more than that with Johnson. The programme gave him the lovable baffoon persona,
a harmless posh fuckwit that we can take the piss from. Laugh along with him. Little did we realise just how ruthless and dangerous he would be.
@therightarticle Actually, that was on my bingo card.
@therightarticle @cstross it’s only surprisingly it hasn’t happened with such regularity as to not register as news. The man is a white supremacist.
@DavidNielsen @therightarticle It has been written (I forget where) that when he was in sixth form he used to go to the local pub (underage), get bladdered, and stagger home singing the Horst Wessel song. So not so much a white supremacist as a straight-up Nazi who's just smart enough not to wear a swastika armband in public.
@cstross @therightarticle a leader for our time, the fascist we desperately don’t need, but who the media somehow can’t stop shoving in our faces, as he give him a platform.
