Then it was almost as good as being at a live concert. If I had wanted to go to a live relay to a cinema I would have gone to a cinema not to Symphony Hall.

Charles WestExcellent playing by the <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/CBSO" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CBSO</a> last night rather spoilt by their trying to pretend we were in a cinema. Three giant screens projected a series of images more or less relevant. They also got members of the orchestra to stand up if they were playing a prominent part. This was done in a rather random and haphazard way. It could have been designed to make it impossible for the player to see both the conductor and their music at the same time. It was all rather distracting; better if I shut my eyes.
