Yora<p>Things my Metroidvania stealth-archer game is going to need:</p><p>A sanity mechanic like Eternal Darkness or Insight mechanic like Bloodborne. Which not only makes invisible supernatural weirdness become visible and makes you more vulnerable to magic effects, but also boosts the effect of using magic items.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/krpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>krpg</span></a></p>

Yora<p>These two screenshots actually show quite well why developers in the 90s choose to make 2D sprite games.</p><p>The amounts of polygons and texture quality that computers could process was just really low then, and going with static images and sprites allowed for having a much prettier image. </p><p>It was a form of optimization to get around hardware limitations.</p><p>Since I would make all backgrounds and sprites by snapshotting 3D models anyway, going 2D would be even more work.</p><p>So 3D it's gonna be.<br><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/krpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>krpg</span></a></p>

Most of it are pretty minor things that really shouldn't be hard to do. But all put together with the stealth mechanic should make for a pretty unique game that I think would be really cool.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/gamedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gamedev</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/crpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>crpg</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/krpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>krpg</span></a></p>
