miriam heddy<p>I watched & highly recommend the extraordinary <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Katla" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Katla</span></a> on <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mstdn.social/@Netflix" class="u-url mention">@<span>Netflix</span></a></span>. <br />[⚠️Caveat/TW: The show deals with grief—specifically the aftermath of maternal depression & suicide—& chronic illness & disability.]</p><p>The aesthetic of <a href="https://mas.to/tags/NordicHorror" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>NordicHorror</span></a> & <a href="https://mas.to/tags/NordicSciFic" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>NordicSciFic</span></a> is far more foreign than the language. (Where Nordic peoples interact in these shows, English seems to be their common language). Once you develop a taste for it, it gets in your head. </p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/NordicNoir" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>NordicNoir</span></a> is now one of my favourite genres.</p>
