The knots were pretty simple, and the shelters could be fun for a survival style night.

After lunch we moved onto knife work, learning three techniques we rounded the end of a square baton before carving it into a triangle. Then made a tent peg out of a length of hazel.

Lastly we made fire! Using strikers we set alight balls of cotton wool, then used that skill to light a small fire, and lastly made fire using a battery and wire wool.

Was a lot of fun, and helped bring some up ny skills more up to today’s standards, and taught me some new skills too.

Was a lot of fun, and if you get the chance to do a Bushscout skills day I’d recommend it!
