Duncan
I'm seeing double! Three Traitors! Wait, no, double. Two.

They're going a bit extra in the tasks now, it's just a Q and A task but in a fucked warehouse and electric chairs. Kind of living for Jason just smiling and saying "yeah, it's alright" in response to being zapped! 😂

Dangerous but potentially lucrative murder incoming I think. If it pays off.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
New Traitor - Siale. Tbh he was never a good Faithful but takes to being a Traitor really well, picking a great choice of murder (Utah). A threat removed, and the group thrown into complete chaos.

Good episode, lots of drama and a really fun task I've not seen before - involving a fake kidnapping.

Also the only time I've seen anyone vote for themselves at the Round Table. Joe is really, really struggling.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Somehow Molly and Ben both correctly figured out Mark's play. Wow.

Fun task halfway between the chess game from UK/US S3 and the naff ghost game from US S1.

From the "ghosts"' statements suspicion on Noel is rekindled - and we get a genuinely sweet scene with him and Cat when things get to him.

But gravity finally affects Jane. Bailey, without even visiting the turret, is now the sole Traitor.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Producers doing a lot of teasing.

Understandably, as we can to an absolutely bizarre play by Mark - blackmailed Jane by passing info to Utah at the end of play and telling her, to force a recruitment offer. Then said no to said offer. Forcing his own murder and Bailey's recruitment. 🤯

I can't tell whether this is the ultimate team play or just odd. But it's compelling.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Super interesting twist here - one Traitor left. Instead of a forced recruitment by itself a murder also happens. Two Faithful plead their case as to which one they'll be.

Super, super interesting. Mark and Bailey, apparently. I thought Cat and Utah were the obvious choices.

Amazingly, having just said how bad Mark is playing he did know Jane was the last Traitor and set up a literal blackmail. Good thing as Bailey's case was better.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Enjoyed seeing Siale fantasising about ribs on a hill.

Otherwise a cheap but fun episode with some high drama and another Traitor out - Mike did too obvious a heel turn.

Bailey and Utah, and to a lesser extent Cat and Jane playing a great game currently. Surprised Mark is so bad at the deduction side of this game.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Shitshow of a task and a repeat of the Canada S1 twist - the Faithful choose between murder or banishment but gambling money.

But the biggest stories of this episode were Mark proving he lacks the social skills to play the game - he utterly exploded himself - and Bailey and Utah coming into their own despite being written off as a boring nerd and a dumbdumb by the rest of the Faithful.

Yes, this group are decently capable but judgy af.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
At the time of the murder reveal I'm unsure Mike's actions have served him well, but I must admit he made an impeccable choice of murder - Brittany was exactly the kind of quietly dangerous Faithful that the Traitors usually miss.

Also Siale is a liability to the Faithful.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Mike lying to Jane in the tower not a great sign re: maintaining trust in the group. Think he may have got himself in trouble here.

Also genuinely alarming how cold he got when he attacked in hindsight - like, that felt real in a way I've not seen in any version of this show before.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Jason saying that he felt like an imposter wearing flashy clothes but that he's wearing hi-viz because all his flashy clothes are in the wash is 😂 absolute class, mate. Absolute class.

Mike's Traitor-on-Traitor play seems to have gone well, but Jane didn't seem happy with it and it's the lack of trust in Team Traitor that's usually damaging about that kind of play. Watch this space?

Also the McDonald's product placement was weird af.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
I love the gravedigging task and it was quite reassuring to see Whitney's hubris biting her a bit - even if that moment was transient.

Once again Brie bringing complete chaos to the Round Table. The most erratic player I've seen in any of these. To the point I'm actually a little worried about her outside the game.

Upshot is that the Faithful seem to be utterly spiralling at the moment. Let's see if they recover quickly.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
The game came across as a little Bushtucker Trial initially but was weirdly appropriate - in a horror movie set with plastic sheeting three teams need to identify the organ and animal of offal by sight, touch or taste.

Simultaneously very in and out of character for this show.

Also it's weird how all these shots of South Island countryside on the other side of the world look exactly like the South Downs, within walking distance of me.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Also favourite players - Jason and Joe. Donna rapidly rising. Brie doesn't seem to know she's an agent of chaos and that's quite fun too.

No-one actually properly annoys me, though Jackie sails close to the wind for me. Which is sad to say as she's a bit like Linda (UK S3) who was a joy to watch.

So ... yeah, it's a good series so far. Apparently NZ S3 is unlikely and that's such a shame.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Watched this with dinner. So far very strong series - Faithful seem sharp but not universally so, Traitors don't look strong but have actually made good kills so far.

A great game from DK S1 returned (a dead player leaving a will) and allowed some great comedy with a corrupt priest of no specific denomination.

Plus some wild play - Andrew telling Jackie he knew she was a Traitor but would protect her if she protected him. :mindblown:

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
A final twist at the end - a day one recruitment. They picked Jacky, the psychic, as bait. On the plus side she didn't suspect a thing, on the down side it … seems very early for that kind of play.

So far the Traitors seem relatively weak and the Faithful pretty sharp, but let's see how well that take ages!

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Alright, New Zealand S2. No S3 (yet, I hope) so this is the latest for this version.

We start by seeing Sam, the previous winner, again - and naturally we get an opening twist. Two players offered $5k to keep or add to the prize fund. Bafflingly they do the latter, poor play.

Interesting people (another bloody psychic aside) and choices of Traitors - two of three are a cop and one of the $5k people. All three clocked. Good start!

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
The final task was fun but very low octane for a Traitors finale, which hurt it a bit (still great). No helicopters this time! 🚁

Superdramatic banishment play though. Would have been happy with most possible outcomes.

Special note for Julia for being the nearest thing there's been to a good player from the police. Usually they're … worryingly bad.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Brooke isn't always a bad Traitor, but his play here is absolutely bottom of the barrel. Very rarely seen a worse move. Then gunning for Colin only to immediately stop once at the Round Table.

Real wtf play.

Fortunately for him the Faithful, usually pretty good, are being daft currently. The final awaits. Sad to see the banishment but an unremarkable episode otherwise.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
Colin is our new Traitor! He's good at defending himself but it's surprisingly inconsequential so far. Fun in the task too.

Kings' plan was absolutely crackers - I understand it, but it took most of the episode to clock he thought he was done and just wanted to shake the box. Surprisingly he didn't kamikaze with it. Unsurprisingly he brought no-one with him on what he (successfully) found.

Interesting but daft murder choice incoming.

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ

Duncan
A task from Denmark S1 this time - kidnapping! The Faithful in this one remind me of the Danish lot actually, they're both pretty good.

Really solid defence from the Traitors here but not enough to save Dan. At roughly the usual spot for a strong initial Traitor to crash out, granted.

Brooke continues to be Schrödinger's Traitor - in some senses good, in others terrible. He clearly didn't realise how bad a shout recruiting Robbie was!

#TheTraitors #TheTraitorsNZ
