My confession-taking practice is in honor of Tlazolteotl, She Who Devours Our Transgressions, the Great Mother always listening, hearing, healing. It's also in honor of my ancestors, all of whom took too much with them to the grave.

Tlazolteotl, Goddess of transgressive sexuality and desire, She Who inspires lust and She Who heals our excesses. A WIP.

She is traditionally depicted by black paint around the mouth, a symbol of her role as Filth- or Sin-Eater.

Xochihuah: "flower-bearer", for both sexes.

Patlache: the precise meaning is uncertain, but encompasses a complex of intersexuality, trans masculinity, and female queerness.

Cuiloni: from cui, "to take". Likely referred to passive/receptive male partners in homosexual encounters.

I have a book about #Malinche with this painting by Alfredo Ramos Martínez from 1940 as the cover, and I've begun to use her as the face of all my women ancestor workings since I don't have any good photos of my great-grandmothers. I set up a small little shrine for my first #MothersNight last night, using the book, lighting a candle, and offering some cranberry beer.

In much #indigenous #mesoamerican #spiritual thought, there is no enemy of the Gods, no enemy of creation. Every agent of #teotl, every being, lives in conviviality with every other being and has a purpose that serves creation.

Spent way too much on a really nice #sketchbook yesterday to incentivise more #drawing. It's an early 2023 resolution to add to it every day!
