Holy mother fucker.<br><br>The migration went fine actually. Ran the backup &amp; restore script. Downloaded the 1.6GB archive. Uploaded it to the new server. Restored everything and everything restored quite beautifully.<br><br>Now comes the hard part. Reconfiguring everything!</span></p>

Alecs<p>Contabo's IPv6 supportr in general is something ducking else. I mean, it does not work like it should, even for directly connected ip addresses. It takes MINUTES for a host to be allowed communication, and for hosts in a subnet in docker.. with or without ndp.. you can not ducking reach them. But I've got issues with OVH so they're not top on my list. (Mainly the fact that it's impossible for me -- as a US Citizen -- to order a server and have it provisioned outside the US.)<br><br></span><a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Linode" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Linode</a> is another option. But I switched from Linode to Hetzner when <a href="https://bofh.social/tags/Akamai" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Akamai</a> took over and I'd really rather not go back. I hate Akamai. But I had absolutely no problems with Linode when I did use them.</p>

Only once there was a serious outage of several hours. Overall I'm satisfied.</p>

For the price I don't expect enterprise-grade performance, but is it good enough for a personal server? From what I have read about the service, the main downside are connection speeds. While others provide reliable speeds at 1 Gbps, Contabo may get as low as 200 Mbps, but I guess it still fine for my server. Are there any other downsides like reliability?</p><p>I've been running my VPS on <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/VPSfree" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VPSfree</span></a>, but the specs haven't changed since I started in 2016. What (4GB RAM, 120 GB storage) was enough back then is no longer much and they aren't very flexible at scaling, you basically have to double the price to double the resources.</p>

In my instance, I notice that when media (even small ones) are fetched for the first time, they take up to 15 seconds (then it gets fast as they are cached). Both VPS and object storage are from Contabo.</p><p>Did anybody experience something similar? The delay only occurs when I try to access the media URL from my VPS (also with curl and wget) — no delay from my local computer. I responded to the case in less than 6 hours with steps taken but this evening I received a mail that I did not respond in time and my <a href="https://snac.doosom.com?t=server" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#server</a> is offline now. Anyone else had to deal with something like this before? Baffled as I took all necessary steps. 😞<br>
