It is wildly irresponsible that WelshPixie is seeing one of their followers have a meltdown and destroy relationships on their behalf (over a year-old joke), and WelshPixie is just cheering that on.
Like, I can't imagine how disposable trans women would have to be in her their mind, for WelshPixie to not try to stop this.
New update on a previous article by Aria Salvatrice @woof :
Actually, it’s about Ethics in Transgenderism
In this long article first published in December 2024, i explained, with many receipts, the open antagonization of a corner of the fediverse i call “Queer Fedi” by american company IFTAS, which purports to be the “Trust and Safety” for Mastodon, yet whose staff makes death threats towards trans women.
In this short update, added at the bottom of the page, i mention…. Their financial troubles. Who would have guessed?

Does anyone know who is running x-activitypub-bridge.deno.dev? It appears to be a twitter bridge, and they don't seem to be moderating what gets passed over (if you're going to republish shit you're responsible for it)
#Fediverse #FediblockMeta
On three separate occasions, Ro has fantasized about murdering queer people of colour with baseball bats.
In the United States and Canada, "a baseball bat to the face" is synonymous with anti-queer violence. The concepts are so impossible to separate here, that homophobic murders are literally referred to as "gay bashing".
When you defend #TheBadSpace, you are defending some of the most mask-off queerphobia imaginable.
This is just so wildly bad faith.
#TheBadSpace is not a neutral tool. It is repeatedly used to target, harass, and stalk queer people for being queer.
Ro himself has repeatedly, openly fantasized about doing gay-bashing - generally towards queer people of colour.
If people genuinely wanted to use blocklists to fight bigotry, they wouldn't be rallying behind the one ran by one of the most blatantly transphobic people on fedi.
Great, looks like my name ended up on a list for bots, as target for spam. I know that getting diabetes meds is very difficult in the US right now, but let's just say the chances of all of them contacting a person on the other side of the planet and plenty of others from hell knows where with exactly the same text in exactly the same way but different profiles... I have my doubts this is legit.
Please, dear Fedi Admins, if a spam wave is incoming, lock your registration temporarily, or at least set them to applications you have to unlock manually. You are not doing yourself nor your users a favour by letting the doors unlocked and ending up getting limited or defederated entirely over this because other instances choose to protect themselves from phishing spam or whatever that is.
short question for #fediadmin / #fediblockmeta :
what exactly should the fediblock hashtag be used for?
Is it primarily for reporting instances, or for individual accounts, too?
This is either about me or about Eva, but the answer is the same in either case.
Ericka has been throwing out slurs and reiterating her hatred of disabled people for the last few days.
Neither myself nor Eva had tagged Fediblock until /after/ Ericka has launched defederation campaigns against multiple queer communities.
Ro is just straight up lying about myself and Eva here, and it is very evident with his long history of transphobia. #fediblockmeta
And she's using people calling her out for her transphobia and ableist slurs as justification to target queer communities on #Fediblock.
I don't get how anybody can see what @ErickaSimone is doing here, and not think that the purpose of Fediblock is to enable this sort of hatred and abuse against (primarily) trans people on fedi.
climatejustice.social proudly doesn't federate with:
@realDonaldTrump@truth.social
@elonmusk@x.com
@zuck@threads.net
or their servers.
guess we should have put a #fediblockmeta somewhere in this thread. anyway, ↑ thread on "based" and old meta that is unfortunately continually relevant and we are tired of seeing divorced of context
I held a 24 hour local poll asking indiepocalypse.social members how we wanted to handle instances like mastodon.social, which have open signups and can easily become vectors for spam and abuse.
There are 35 minutes left but with a split of 33%/67%, I'm calling it. indiepocalypse.social members would rather limit open signup instances, knowing it can limit discovery.
Effective immediately I have limited mastodon.social, mastodon.online and mastodon.world. In the future I will be checking other large Fediverse instances via the API and limiting them as necessary.
Thanks all!
I have finally finished the first stage of the indiepocalypse.social blocklist review.
Some of you might know that 2 years ago when I started this instance, I imported blocklists from other instances and imported them with no review and without adding comments. Shortly after I also joined a Fedi admin Discord chat that helped feed into the Oliphant blocklist and set up to automatically import new additions to that list.
There was a technical issue with it, where retractions could not be automated and list item comments were not carried over. So for the time I was a participant, the blocklist grew and didn't shrink unless I manually went in.
There's a lot more to this particular story that I don't want to rehash but suffice to say after the Oliphant blocklist cabal fell apart I stopped importing blocklist items automatically and started making my own decisions. But with my real life I had difficulty finding the time to review everything I'd imported over the course of about a year.
Last night I finally sat down to review the list. We had roughly 32 pages (with 40 entries each) on our blocklist, and overwhelmingly they weren't commented in any way. While I had "The Game Awards" on as background noise I manually went through and deleted any uncommented items one-by-one. By the end we were down to 8 pages. That's how many I removed.
Some of the items I still have are just, "blocked by tenforward" or "blocked by mastodon.art" and I still need to manually review those and add my own comments/findings. But I wanted to let folks know where we stand as of today.
I made a lot of rookie admin mistakes 2 years ago that reverberate through to today. I don't want to provide excuses - just own up to them and provide transparency.
Thanks everyone.
