I accidentally triggered my partner by mentioning being interested in signing myself up for a realistic kidnap escape room event, and now they're crying.</p><p>I forget how much trauma and fear these fucking bigots instill in other women. For better or worse, I've never really had that fear response. Sure, I get anxious about situations, and there's some scary stuff out there, but I've always been the "run towards danger" sort—fear doesn't really get under my skin that way (and it's gotten me assaulted several times, but fuck those guys).</p><p>It pains me so much that I can't shield people I care about from these feelings that violence against them is a real threat, because it is.
