Not the top of the world, or Wales even, but I am at the top of Ceredigion…Pen Pumlumon Fawr at 752 metres. I’ve been wanting to come up here for ages and the weather is almost perfect. Time for lunch.
@helenclayton Beautiful! Take a deep inhale for me. Clean, fresh mountain air.
@penpencilbrush consider it done
Is that the fabled "mach loop"?
@FediThing you know, I think it could be! A jet flew over me earlier when I was in the valley. Too fast to get a photo of but also VERY close. There’s one flying around now, much higher though.
@FediThing @helenclayton No, the Mach loop is further north. They fly down the Tal-y-llyn pass and then over Machynlleth, which gives the loop its name.
But low flying happens elsewhere too.
@helenclayton
Golly you are up high!
@IcooIey the most ‘up’ I’ve done since I was in the Pyrenees last spring.
@helenclayton You need to get a "Bugger off Biggles" flag or something similar
@sheepnik One went over low when I was in the valley, could almost see the whites of the pilots eyes as it were. It set some geese honking!
@helenclayton @sheepnik we’ve had a military helicopter and a jet on training overhead this morning
@JeniParsons @sheepnik there’s a lot of activity. I can hear jets even if I can’t see them.
@helenclayton It all looks lovely Helen! Nice day out...
@helenclayton I am told those ones, that sound like spitfires, are Canadian training planes
@Beedazzled they were busy.
@helenclayton Stunning photograph and beautiful landscape. Have a lovely walk, dear friend
@Greenseer thank you lovely
Ceredigion is a beautiful county.
@essjayjay it was a bit hazy today but could see pretty far in all directions.
Was our home patch during our 30 years in Wales, especially when we lived in Ponterwyd. You have had a lovely day for it.

@philcolbourn it was a chilly start but absolutely glorious when the sun came out. I had way too many layers!
@helenclayton wow, what a sky!
