After using the information-dense Modular Ultra watch face on my Apple Watch since day one, I decided to switch to the minimalist Solar Graph—and whoa, what a breath of fresh air!
I didn’t realize how overwhelming it was to constantly glance at 10 different data points until they were gone.
Simplicity…
Of course, now I’m relying on the Smart Stack more than before, but I turned off all the widget suggestions.
@JeroenSchaper In reality, I’m a bit jealous of people who can be content with regular watches. Me, I get bored quickly with the same look, and I have trouble reading the time on an analog watch
But at the same time, I love analog watches as a way of measuring the passage of time visually. Being able to break time down into “slices,” almost like pieces of a pie is so useful (1/2)
@JeroenSchaper If you tell me, “I’ll be there in three hours,” I can instantly picture how much of the watch face that time will take, which is more intuitive than making up numbers in my head with digital.
But then if you ask me what time it is, and I’m wearing an analog watch… “uhhhh give me a minute, I need to figure it out”
(2/2)
@Aday Haha yeah, that's difficult with a digital watch.
I actually favor being able to look at an analog watch. It's something that's difficult to describe and it's a very personal thing. An analog watch gives me a more personal feeling than a digital watch.
@JeroenSchaper It’s indeed difficult to put into words, but I totally feel you!
@Aday Heh, that's why I have multiple watches I am content with the look of them, I just like to have multiple choice. I also have an Apple Watch in my collection. This Seiko is the only watch that always makes me go "damn, this was looks proper good!".
I like analog watches because of how they were, especially automatic analog watches like this one.
