Suspended particles of dust from the Sahara have once more made huge inroads into Europe through strong winds. The sky is more apocalyptic than my cell phone allows it to capture (grrr unwanted "correction" built in). Later, it will rain fine gritty mud. And desertification progresses while people bitch about their car paint finish getting scratched. I will have to wear an N95 just to step out of the house even with no people around.

@Etche_homo It was pretty bad here in Lisbon until it started raining a couple of days ago.
@cyrilpedia we had the tail end of that (I washed my car last night because I couldn't see through the windows) but now I'm just going to stay in the house as much as I can 
@ggg Interesting mix of obvious and new, thanks! I wonder though if the phosphorus content of dust deposited on leaves and washed later into the soil is as consequent as all that, but considering that there is a massive east-to-west cycle of minerals as the earth turns as well as water in the vertical plane is enticingly mind-boggling.
