#brightspace is still a massively overpriced, barely-functional, heavily-enshittified prototype of the principal-agent problem, in case anyone was wondering.

@DarrinLRogers Always nice to learn a new concept (principal - agent) even if it is a depressing one. I sometimes think that the whole #enshittification of the current state of affairs is a determined reluctance of large swaths of elites to recognize the law of diminishing returns. Pretty sure it may have started with Moore's Law which should have been called "Moore's Observation."
@FiveAcres I was ranting about Brightspace last year sometime, and a person here on the fediverse told me about the principal-agent problem. It describes several issues relevant to my life, I think.
Moore's law is a weird thing--not in its formulation, but in how people have used it. I'm with you in thinking it's been more or less weaponized by some people.
