Trumpet Lichen (Cladonia fimbriata) growing between Haircap moss and stones

The photo shows a lichen growing on the ground between stones and dry haircap moss. The lichen consists of tiny green lobes (leaves) at the base, from which small, upright, gray-green, trumpet-shaped podetia (the stems) grow. The surface of the podetia looks as if it is covered with a granular powder called soredia. The soredia consist of algae cells and fungal hyphae, a method of reproduction of the lichen when these soredia are spread by e.g. wind.
