A Cladonia lichen that I have not seen here before, it is rare in our area and tends to grow more south of the Great Lakes.
I found it in a very humid area near a waterfall close to the North Shore of Lake Huron in an intense green color.

The photo shows a lichen (Cladonia sp.) with a collection of intensely green, cup-shaped structures (podetia) growing from green leaflets (squamules) at the bottom. Even the surface of the podetia is covered with green squamules. Relatively long stems with large brown fruiting bodies (apothecia) at the tips grow at the edges of the cups. The lichen is surrounded by dry brown pine needles.
