@HarriettMB I think it is more they failed to act on the 20 recommendations made when May was Home Secretary xx
I found this from a newsreport the Jay report was published in 2022 after the national inquiry was set up in 2015 and carried out 15 investigations, including into grooming gangs and abuse in schools and church settings.
Don't hear much noise from the Tories about another investigation into schools and the Church! I wonder why that is??
Plus who was in power in 2015 & 2022 - it wasn't the Labour Party!
SO EXACTLY WHO HAS FAILED TO ACT ON THIS?? #CorruptTories #Liars
I think the #Tories believe that this nonsense that Mu*k is pushing will hurt the Labour Party but I wonder how they think it will work?
They were in power when this was uncovered back in 2010's they were the government in 2022 when the Jay report was published. They were the government that refused to implement the findings of that report.
They are the SAME people who are now attacking the Labour Party for not implementing the findings of a report that was published
@jacqui76 @Geri @HarriettMB I have heard it said that for the far right, it's not a problem to be totally contradictory, and in fact may even be desirable. Something to do with reinforcing the narrative that there is no such thing as objective truth so you should just go with your prejudices.
Not entirely sure if I believe that, but you have to admit it certainly fits the facts here.
“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction (i.e., the reality of experience) and the distinction between true and false (i.e., the standards of thought) no longer exist.”
“The point is that both Hitler and Stalin held out promises of stability in order to hide their intention of creating a state of permanent instability.”
