OK not an expert on psychology but being 'bad' would suggest you know what you are doing is wrong, but do it anyway (lets say driving over speed limit) being 'mad' would suggest you lack the mental capacity to understand your actions, therefore don't know right from wrong, so can do something illegal but just don't see it as wrong.

There are many court cases in the UK where people have escaped jail terms on the grounds of deminished responsibility or that person is considered mentally incapable of understanding their actions.

So our choice of words, we need to be careful, otherwise his actions could be dismissed and he can't be punished for what he does.

If you ask me, Trump is both intelligent and clever enough to get in to power, knows full well what he is doing and the implications of this. Either that 27 millions of americans are just stupid.

However even one of the pardoned jan 6 rioters have refused pardon on the basis they did something wrong and know that. So people are not THAT stupid.

I would add 3 too, 1 would apply but would make Trump not responsible for actions in some cases
