The water was still enough to see an incredible wave extend in front the beaver’s head. I’ve seen beaver many times but never in such still water and at such a low angle to capture just how far the wave trough is in front of the beaver. What a way to kick off fall in Northern Nevada!

Golden tones and faint reflections of distant rushes fill the majority of the frame, the only thing in focus is the nose of the beaver following the wave being pushed in front of its body. Attentive eye shows the reflection of the rising sun.
