Hey #believeinfilm friends,
Looks like Kodak shared a few new numbers with their sellers (Kosmo Foto reveals). Many of these numbers are the annual film price increases (to keep pace with inflation). Some of these increases are pretty steep, like +30% for Gold. But others are going in a different direction!

Will you hoard any film this year?
To clarify: the +30% increase for Kodak Gold is only in 120 format. Kodak's prices for 135 Gold rolls are going up by +8%. (Thank you to Stephen for pointing this out).
@analog_cafe I bought 5 rolls of Portra 400 for 35mm and 5 for 120.
@Gargron Nice! Hopefully that'll last
@analog_cafe Good News on Tri-X. Not so good on Gold 120 5-packs and Portra. I’m glad I stocked up on Gold 120 5-packs when they were on sale. Portra is getting out of my comfort zone. Looks as if I’ll be shooting Kodak Gold and Fuji 200 (new) in 135 going forward.
@tomnorthfilm Some retailers won't bump the prices until they receive new stock, so there may still be a few months at old prices. That's my plan. And more Vision 3 film.
@analog_cafe I’ve found I only care for Vision 3 film when processed in ECN2. When processed in C41 it looks and feels just like CineStill 400D, not my favorite film stock. I’m not crazy about the ECN2 process, or remjet removal, so I’m sticking with native C41 film for color. That said, the colors from 250D when processed in ECN2 are gorgeous.
@tomnorthfilm Must agree that 250D in C-41 is not the best selection. 50D is pretty good, tho, IMO. But yeah, remjet isn't that fun. The best way to remove it may be an ultrasound bath, not sure if I wanna spend my money there.
@analog_cafe so the economical play is to buy Gold and HP5 now and Tri-X next year?
Thanks for the updates!
@shom Youp, makes sense to me!
