I recently asked a friend with an EV if range anxiety is still an issue. His response is that solvency anxiety is a bigger issue. He raised Fisker and Lucid as two examples of companies that might expire before your car does.
Tesla now gives similar vibes.
The issue with Tesla is less that the company runs out of money but instead the ownership experience degrades far worse than you signed up for. Concrete examples that owners are already experiencing are resale values, repair costs and insurance prices being worse than expected.
The company disinvesting in its charging network and new cars is a sign things will get worse not better.
@carnage4life I think build quality is really starting to suffer as well. Was behind a new Model Y yesterday (still had paper plates) - the hatch was visibly not centered in the opening and the “Dual Motor” badge was a good several degrees off level. Obviously crooked. I’d have never accepted delivery of that.
@c20d @carnage4life #BuildQuality of post-#Musk - acquision #Teslas are worse than #GDR-made #Trabant and the #LadaNiva #4x4!

And that says something...
@kkarhan @c20d @carnage4life Lada Niva is a bloody good car. They used to import them over here (aus) and you still see the odd one trundling about. My mum used to drive one back in the day. Give it a decent auto transmission and some half decent emissions cleanup and I'd drive one in a heartbeat.
@Syulang @c20d @carnage4life in Germany they were common as vehicles by hunters and foresters asbthey were the cheapest 4x4's one could buy new up until Putinbfucked up and AvtoWAS went up on the sanctions list.
In fact, the importer innGermany not only offered them with an extra anti-rust coating but also with like a removeable plastic tub trunk os hunters could just get their wet dogs or some freshly shot game loaded into the back of their car...
@carnage4life that's what they get for having a deranged manchild as CEO who bad qualities as a businessman are only trumped by his shittyness as a father and husband, according to his daughter and ex-wife.
@carnage4life Elon Musk made a mistake. He pissed off the group of people who believe in climate change and will buy electric cars. Republicans talk a good game but are not the market base.
@carnage4life “Pivot to robotaxis” is going to be the new “pivot to video”
@carnage4life I wonder how Musk's $56 billion pay package is going to fit in with this new restructuring.
