The one of the best parts of using #Palm in 2025 — is the lack of unwanted everyday updates like "we fixd bugs and make app faster" (obviously not ).
You just found a gem and using it. Or not.
One of the cool apps is the HandyShpr — shopping list with multiple databases, mass checkout of bought items (the items itself doesn't disappear from DB) and nice features.
It is extremely stylish — come in the shop with Palm not with smartphone in the hand
@evgandr maaaaaaaaaaan, I still remember my Handspring? (don't really remember, but some version of Palm 3), that was best handheld I ever had, I hate "smart" phones so much
@evgandr is it still usable?
@richard Luckily, I bought a completely new, non-unboxed Palm — so the battery wasn't worn. It works a few weeks before charging become necessary.
Apps still exists in the special "archive" sites, like PalmDB. People even write a new apps for Palm in 2025 (e.g. https://quarters.captaintouch.com/blog/posts/2025-01-04-stargrid-a-new-game-im-making-for-palm-os-in-2025.html).
Internet connectivity — ugh, there are problems bc of lot of massive changes in the modern Web. I can connect my Palm to the Internet via special app on the smartphone but most of the time I'm "off grid".
@evgandr interesting. I like the idea of using a vintage device (if is working fine). I envy your experience.
