. One balmy summer evening he was torturing (us and) a garden shredder that was clearly not up to the task…my husband invited him (via the safety of our living room window) to put his arm in a bit further 
. He didn’t hear over the noise which, in retrospect for neighbourly relations, is probably a good thing.
