I was 10 at the time of Aberfan and I was attending a primary school in Cardiff.
The first time I saw a grown man cry was when Mr Harries (our headteacher) came into our class to tell our form teacher the news.
We were sent home and watched our fathers and grandfathers gather spades and shovels to go to the Valleys to help.
I never thought I’d see the like again…until this vile, venal, and incompetent government rose to power in 2010
