Are you one of the thousands of women who've presented reams of evidence to cops about a stalker including texts, emails, phone messages, and proof of him showing up at your home and place of work? Were you, like most of us, told that there's "nothing they can do" until he escalates?

Next time, mention that he has threatened to harm you at your place of work, and that those threats include harming your CEO as well. Turns out, threats to CEOs are super extra actionable

Newsweek · Is $100K bond fair for woman accused of insurer threats? Experts weigh inSome legal experts told Newsweek that Briana Boston's bond is appropriate and unsurprising given the current climate around health care.

@kims I had a guy showing up outside my house screaming obscenities at me, frequently, while sending emails saying that he pictured my death. The cops said I needed a restraining order before they could do anything. He successfully evaded process servers for months, so we couldn't serve him with the order.

@amanda
Unfortunately an all too common story. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

@kims it was a lot. He was also filing repeated police reports claiming that I was making pedo porn and selling it on the dark web.

@amanda @kims when I finally got my last boyfriend out he filed an emergency restraining order claiming I hacked his accounts. I didn’t, but he knew I would have to safely store his stuff while it was pending. I went to court and the judge threw it out noting he had drug abuse and mental health issues & he issued me one. Dude violated it and avoided court for 6 YEARS. He just kept not coming & getting an arrest warrant & getting arrested months later then getting PR bail & not going to court & getting a new bail jumping charge, but PR bail again. For 6 years. It was ridiculous.

@kims Good grief. The rich people really are terrified, aren't they? This is so out of proportion to someone (who doesn't even own a gun) freaking out over the phone. Suddenly Karen terrifies the system!

@Lazarou @kims It's on the brink to a christo-fascistic plutocracy. Although the "plutocracy" part is already in place.

@kims
How many politicians and judges and prosecutors have had MAGAt threats against them much more violent and explicit than this. But the woman fighting for health care makes a vague comment and she is arrested? Unreal.

@kims @moira Not to get all SovCit but what if we incorporated ourselves?! Then we’d be way more important to The Powers That Be.

@rmd1023 @kims @moira You'd probably be treated in manner like Native Americans, but worse.

@kims would I be wrong in stating that the cops are some of the biggest Karen's? More interested in protecting wealth over community...

@LeatherCubAndrew @kims almost like they were originally created to do _just that_.

@LeatherCubAndrew @kims it's all about "law and order" and very little about "justice"

@GentlemanTech wouldn't that "law and order" aspect align with protecting wealth and capital? In a lot of ways the wealthy own/manipulate lawmakers, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if law enforcement was basically being used as bodyguards for the wealthy...

@kims

@LeatherCubAndrew @kims yeah exactly. The "order" bit is: "stopping the peasants from getting too uppity"

y'know; riot shields and baton charges. Arresting folks exercising their right to peaceful protest. Getting extremely interested in social activism but ignoring neo-nazi groups.

@kims Definitely. We tried to get my wife a no contact order against our next door neighbors who would scream threats like "I'm going to blow your fucking brains out" directly through our window, and threaten to murder our baby. The judge berated her for coming to her with a typed list of a months worth of threats, saying she didn't believe her if she couldn't recall the dates of every event from memory.

We talked to an attorney after that, and were told to withdraw. They said almost nobody gets a no contact order from that judge, even domestic advise victims, until someone can prove they've actually been physically attacked.

@kims well see that florida woman said something that could constitute a threat to a PERSON not a hoi polloi

@kims

You're talking to the same people that just elected, (actually re-elected), a convicted felon, a pathological lying, sexual predator. A twice impeached treasonous traitor. You really don't think their response will be a rational one, do you?

@kims

This is all blather. Justified blather, but it goes no further toward re-arranging the mindsets of the powerful to realize the paranoia they SHOULD be feeling.

The rule of law, oft-times the last guardrail of justice left to us, is being eroded. Beyond that guardrail lay violence. Inferences of that violence, depending on the risk level tolerable by the person utilizing that, are needed to start re-framing relationships of power structures in our society.

Quite frankly, I think a CEO biting the dust is an excellent first start, by a person who has clearly seen how to lead others to this conclusion...and has reached the end of watching our guardrails be destroyed.

To each their own. But we're not playing our grand-daddy's games, any more. They're coming after our civilization.

You think a civil war is coming?? Guess what. J6 was its IPO.
