2011: Mercy Air helicopter inbound to the LZ on eastbound Interstate 8 near Alpine, CA. It was very rare to shut down the freeway for incidents. This was a wrong-way driver head-on traffic collision with multiple moderate/acute patients requiring extrication. I was the Rescue 3 officer on this one.
