I stand in the garden for the
Duration of a cigarette, my
Shirt off, in the heat and the
Sun, trying to absorb as much
Vitamin D as this final late
Summer will allow after two
Months of cold and misery,
#Grimace at the thought of
Autumn in just over two
Weeks, and the endless grey
Wait for spring, the useless
Hope that the world will
Be healed and the seasons
Back to their balance and
Necessities. The heat heals
My bones and my mind.
I will miss it.
