A lot of #grocery stores in #Canada have announced that they will start checking your receipts when you leave - because of the "rampant" grocery theft... supposedly.
#Walmart has been getting away with this for years, but in Canada they cannot detain you or search you or demand proof of purchase of items unless they *observe* you doing something #sus.
#Costco is the only exception as they are a *private membership* and you agreed to it when you joined.
