Many moons ago, i worked for a charity that worked in Romania. On one of the many trips to Bucharest, I took my camera which I’m pretty sure at the time (1992-97) was a Leica M6 and a 50mm summicron. I was also using Ilford HP5 +. I only found these because I’ve started scanning negatives and hidden within my files were these negatives which I’d never done anything with other than process and file - so here they are for the first time. They’re a bit of history from a fairly newly liberated Romania and it’s been a joy to see them again.

Usually, I don’t buy reissues of albums I own OG presses of (pictured right, UK), but I was willing to make an exception in this case.

STT is one of the definitive bands of my life, & I am a bit of an obsessive.
When I saw this year’s #recordstoreday reissue of this features FIVE extra studio tracks, I was all in.
Bit of a different cover, same great record.
Essential.

Tori Amos, Little Earthquakes, 1992 on Atlantic

Tori Amos’ debut album from 1992. I had this CD (and Under the Pink) on constant repeat through graduate school – happy to finally get a copy on vinyl.

What an amazing album – still gives me chills 30+ years later. “Me and a Gun” of course, but also “Silent All These Years,” “China,” “Precious Things,” and “Crucify” – so many powerful songs and what a sequence!

My copy is the Barnes & Noble exclusive (at least in the US – was sold in other retailers internationally) 2023 2xLP reissue and remaster on translucent green (“coke bottle clear”) vinyl.
