That first time I ever downloaded a mp3 was 1994 and it was Biz Markie "Just A Friend". My dad was kind of a tech geek back then and was like, you can download all this music now in a smaller file format. "Just A Friend" was the first file that came across the newsgroup I was looking at.
Fun fact: I met Biz Markie in 2002 when he came in to the Blockbuster Video I worked at in Laurel, Maryland.
Had a couple #HipHop #Drinkware arrive today. Got a stemless glass featuring Biggie Manatee rocking the Jesus Piece that says Barleywine is Life, and got a Biz Markie rocks glass.

Seems a fitting choice for while so many people are settling in and learning the ways of where they are now.
Absolutely love this tune. Maybe it's #Donovan 's most deeply funky song (though at the frantic end of funk there is 'Barabajagal', my jam.) In any case the drums and double bass here are just *chef's kiss* imho.
The song had a bit of an afterlife. #KingCrimson used to cover it live. The late, great and diabolical #BizMarkie sampled it in 1991.
