Every year, the university would have a ceremony to raise the flag (one of the largest in India). The flag area was the center of campus and frequently had events and ceremonies for the university.

Indian Independence Day (August 15, 2017) at O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat Haryana. The scene takes place in the morning in an open park. In the center is raised platform made of red bricks. A group of people, some in blue uniforms, stand at attention.
