Today is Asexual Visibility Day (6 April).

As someone who identifies as part of this community, it’s important to recognise the day, but also to continue calling out for representation in materials.

I’m proud that A is for … is out there. Written for #ELT lessons at CEFR C1, this resource raises awareness of asexuality.

It’s available as a standalone resource or part of the Existence collection.

And, if you’re heading to #IATEFL, Existence the physical book will be available to buy from The Bournemouth English Book Centre (BEBC) - so head over to them in the exhibition hall!

#Representation in media matters. The more minorities are presented in media, the more they feel seen. For #NeurodiverityCelebrationWeek, I want to recognise #StarWars for having a character with #ADHD in 1977. R5-D4 was bought by Luke’s Uncle, but as the droid rolled to its new owners, it ground to a halt with smoke pouring from its top. Luke examines the droid, saying "This R2 unit has a bad motivator." If there's ever a description of ADHD, it's having a bad motivator! #RepresentationMatters
