Also appearing- Brazilian White Brugmansia, the Angel’s Trumpet herself! This tree produces its expansive flowering branches at the top only after it has established several tiers of short, leafy branches below.

The precisely tiered look of this plant, and the ridiculous scale of the flowers when it is still small reminds me of the way trees were stylized in the Unicorn Tapestries.

(Note: This is a Datura relative, and the same caveats apply.)

I love the color of this fuschia-ish dahlia, but I am confused as to why it grew out of the Cafe au Lait Twist bulb (along with a proper color one). I guess it's one of the parents showing through rather than the hybrid? But it's the same bulb! 🧐 And the little swirls in the Belle of Barmera are so fun! Now I just have to figure out what happened to the other color I planted and what it was... 🤔

A simple photo of the prairies. The evening light illuminated the flowers. I usually take a long walk among these in summer and the pictures do not do justice to the expanse and beauty of the prairies, be it any season. I feel fortunate be at a place where I can walk in, feel, observe, see and smell nature. And if I have the camera, then its meditation😊.
