I wish these things cared about what they do to us, but they do not—no more than the elite and powerful care about the well-being of the masses they exploit to enjoy their privileged lives of plenty.

From the article: "In updates on H5N1 avian flu today, the World Health Organization (WHO) shared new details about Mexico's recent fatal case, the country's first H5N1 infection, along with an updated risk assessment from the WHO and two global animal health groups.
"In an outbreak notice, the WHO said the child from Durango state didn't have any underlying health conditions and became ill on March 7 with fever, malaise, and vomiting. The patient, who according to earlier reports was a 3-year-old girl from Durango state, was hospitalized 6 days later for respiratory failure and was treated with antiviral drugs the following day.
"The child was transferred to a tertiary care hospital and died on April 8 due to respiratory complications. Along with the initial unsubtypable influenza A virus, tests also identified parainfluenza 3. The H5N1 finding was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing on April 1, and genetic sequencing revealed that the virus belonged to the 2.3.4.4b clade and the D1.1 genotype, the same one linked to serious infections in the United States and British Columbia, Canada."

"The [Division of #Viral #Hepatitis] Laboratory Branch had the highest degree of viral hepatitis expertise of any #PublicHealth laboratory in the world," wrote Scott Becker, the assn's CEO. "Their loss eliminated critical national testing services that do not exist anywhere else within the #HHS agencies."
As of April 16, the assn had not received a response from #RFKJr, Becker said.

…Although 4 new samples have already arrived at the lab & 3 more were waiting in #Florida to be sent, none have been tested by the #CDC. Epidemiologists still at the CDC have been trying to find another place that can do the tests but have been unsuccessful….

The scientists at the lab knew what they were doing. Quickly, they analyzed the blood from #Florida using their custom software & found that 9 cases were genetically linked to the same pain clinic, where it was later discovered that a doctor was improperly reusing injection vials. By March, ofcls in FL had restricted the doctor's #medical license to limit the spread of the #virus & packaged new patient samples to send to the #CDC for testing…

The #hepatitis C #virus, which is spread through contact w/infected blood & can lead to #deadly liver #cancer, is notoriously hard to identify. But if anyone could understand what was #happening in FL, it would be the Division of #ViralHepatitis in the #CDC's HQ.
Using samples from the lab's collection of nearly 1M frozen specimens, scientists helped make the initial discovery of the #HepatitisC virus in the 1980s. In 2020, that #research was awarded the #NobelPrize in #Medicine.

So, a business associate's email got spoofed and I was sent an email with a link. It was something that was normal for him to send so I clicked it. It was of course as you surmised, malicious.
I did this on my iPhone. Nothing opened and I haven't seen any worrying signs. Cleared all my history and such.
Anything I need to worry about? Asking all the big brains out there.
