#20252025Challenge
Last night Momma Darlo and I went on a round trip flight to view the Aurora Borealis. While we didn't get to see the full colourful waterfall view, we did get to see the glowing cloud of the Northern Lights. I'm quite happy with how the drawing of the cloud came out. You can see the photo it was based on here on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/darlosworld.bsky.social/post/3llj54nc7yk2j

The North American NA-40 was a bomber prototype developed for the United States Army Air Force. After the crash of the prototype, the type was cancelled and the Air Force ordered the Douglas A-20 Havoc instead. North American used the NA-40B design to develop the NA-62, which competed for the medium bomber contract and was ordered into production as the B-25. destinationsjourney.com/histor #NorthAmericanNA40 #aircraft #aviation #airplane #aeroplane #bomber #USAAF #Prototype

Designed as a Mach 3 interceptor to counter envisaged Soviet supersonic bombers, the North American XF-108 Rapier was to be equipped with a radar and missiles capable of engaging bombers at 100 miles. Due to rising costs and the adoption of ballistic missiles by the Soviets, the project was cancelled after only the wooden mockup was completed. destinationsjourney.com/histor #NorthAmericanXF108Rapier #NorthAmericanXF108 #aviation #USAF #airplane #aeroplane #aircraft #interceptor

I’ve been following “Boom Supersonic” and “Tokamak Energy” on the internet for years now, and it’s great to see the breakthrough from Boom today. Hopefully Overture will be a lot nearer, and supersonic passenger flights will soon be flying again!
