The Children of Time episode of #startrek #ds9 is an incoherent mess. There. I said it.

They make a big show of a plan that would allow them to leave while saving the 8000. That's just false--one *copy* would have stayed, one copy would escape.

Then they decide to leave and "kill" the 8000. Ceasing to have ever existed is not the same as killing *which Kira points out to Surface Odo* when he asks about unborn future descendents .

So then they decide to stay, "saving" the 8000.

But also, it isn't *leaving* that dooms the planet. It's the fact that they went back in time the first place that does that, which was Dax's doing by faking the quantum effect.

So?

Seeing #DS9 on #Plex at the correct speed and I'm realizing how much time compression that #HandI uses on #AllStarTrek really ruins it. Especially the music.
