Je viens de finir la série #Given , après un bon mois de "pause" entre fin de la série et le film, et elle prend clairement une place de choix dans ma liste de celles qui m'ont le plus plût !
Tellement d'émotions qui passent, sur le theme de la musique, et ca fait vraiment du bien sur plein d'aspects (oui je reste vague pour ne rien spoil 😊).

This week's #AnimangaPictureChallenge ( @apc ) is "Bands"! This week, I had a very hard time choosing - there's a wealth of amazing band #anime out there, but I also wanted to avoid picking something I'd picked before (otherwise the #given boys would be my top pick!).

This week, my pick is the band "OTM Girls", a metal band formed out of an underground idol group and a timid Red Panda with an excellent Death Metal roar.

Retsuko first helps out with the Idol Group off-stage to pay off her debts, but when the manager spots her vocal talents, he spots his opportunity and pressures her onto the stage (to the shock of their fans). He then remakes the group into a metal band - forcing the girls to learn their instruments quickly ahead of their first festival performance.

I am a Fairly Old Person who's been hanging around various fandoms for a few decades. Socialist, queer, kinky, neurodivergent, somewhat disabled.

My main fannish activity these days is clipping salacious bits from the many thousands of hours of published skz video content. Maybe one day I'll start editing the clips together into silly videos, but for now I just hoard and gloat over them like a delulu dragon.

Finally, more than a year later, after the final chapter was published, I bit the bullet and finished reading Given. I'm very emotional. I think I'm feeling every single emotion there is. This is a series very near and dear to my heart. I discovered and became attached to it during one of the most difficult and worst times of my life, and it played a big part in helping me through and heal from it. I associate it with a specific time period in my life, and although I already knew it was over and I had moved on, now I got slapped in the face with that fact. It was funny seeing the character whom I saw myself in finally come to the same conclusions I already had a while ago. As you know, time in the real world moves faster than in fiction. At least in this case. I procrastinated with catching up with this series for so long as I didn't want it to end nor to close this chapter of my life. I'm very happy that I finally did, though. One of my goals for this summer is to finish the series that have ended, but I have been putting off catching up with, as I don't want to say goodbye to them yet. You can't really move on and live your life this way, though.
