While it remains unknown what technology #Nintendo has developed for the new #Switch2 #JoyCons, it is crystal clear that they have done everything in their power to prevent another stick drift debacle. And yet Mario’s Dad won’t confirm what, so we’ll have to wait. #videogames theverge.com/news/644457/ninte

The Verge · Nintendo confirmed the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons don’t use Hall effect joysticksBy Andrew Liszewski

Bummed because I'd really been getting back into Diablo II Resurrected on Switch, blasting my way through with that powerful summoner necromancer I think I mentioned before I was starting- only to break one of my Hori replacement Joy-Cons.

I have a much later model Switch & the original Joy-Cons lasted longer than they usually would, but the right one is kinda wonky now, so wifey bought bigger Hori ones a couple years back, mostly for me. I liked the bigger Hori pads for my big dumb hands but we also need one for my my wife's smaller hands, and she found the Hori odd to use anyway, even before breaking. So I guess I'm gonna need to grab yet another set of OEM JoyCons as cheap as I can find em. I don't mind. I mean, they get a lot of use.

I just need something that WORKS so I can go back to exploding corpses as that necro! 😂

My left Nintendo Switch Joy-Con is drifting so bad that I keep dying in Breath pf the Wild. Very frustrating. I barely even played that much! It seems it's just a matter of old age instead of wear and tear.

Anyways, I found out that an entire iFixit pro tech toolkit and two new hall effect joysticks are just slightly more expensive than a pair of new joy-cons. So I went for the more sustainable option. Would you like to see photos/videos of the repair?

Just finished replaying #Pikmin 1. I love the game. I love the level design. I hate the time crunch. I failed to launch mostly because I spent about a week without realizing there was a map to orient and direct me. Rebooting from Day 2 and it should go much smoother.

Last time about 3 puzzles I couldn't solve and 1 I looked up and it felt wrong. We'll see how I do on run 2.

A big NO. My left joy-con is drifting so bad I can't use it anymore. I'm using a Switch Pro Controller instead and it's a far superior experience.

Whatever Nintendo comes up with for the Switch 2 joy-cons, I hope they fix the drift issues. They are expensive to replace and it's a hassle to send them in for repair, so people usually just chuck them in the trash when they stop working which results in a lot of e-waste.

Nintendo Life · Talking Point: Would You Want To Reuse Your Joy-Con On 'Switch 2'?By Jim Norman

A bit ago (a week maybe?) I got in the mail something I ordered for Switch. JoyCon 'replacements' called Mobapad M6 HD.

I've thought about it before seeing as I have big hands and JoyCons are small but decided against it because most are missing features like HD Rumble, amiibo, even wireless support.

I decided to look again after trying the one @tamitha has on her Switch and found these! They have HD Rumble, amiibo support! And wireless. No IR camera though! They also have mechanical buttons (nice), hall effect joysticks (excellent!), back programmable back buttons, and swappable faceplates/d-pads.

They're comfy in the hands and nicely grippy on the back. They are super secure on there, no wobble or anything.

I've been really liking them! They work great! No issues! Rumble feels good and I can Splatoon with them... so I know the sticks/gyro/etc are working well. :ablobcatattention:

You pay a bit more for the features but I recommend them! :ablobcatbongo:

My TOTALLY on time and not two years out of date of the Five Below Switch Controllers.

tl:dr You get what you pay for, but you get it.

These are...crap. Feel bad, squishy triggers, don't charge off the screen, don't clip like real joycons, but use a different clamping mechanism, low fi rumble, everything is half assed. They also don't synch well, only turn on via the screenshot/home buttons, and wen on the Switch, it won't dock. BUT, they were like $10-15. For that I can forgive a lot. If the triggers were better I'd say they were worth everything else.

They're absolutely little sibling controllers.
Here's where they were: fivebelow.com/products/control

My Bbinbok ones are better...but they also are getting drift. Hm. binbok.com/products/doyoky-cla
