This week I finished listening to the two-part interview with Morton Subotnick at https://podbay.fm/p/electronically-yours-with-martyn-ware/e/1718233200. I could listen to him talk for several more episodes, but this is good.
One interesting thing: He doesn't consider the #Buchla system a synthesizer. It is "an analog computer for making music". It was intended to be digital. But it wasn't possible when it was made, so they had to make it analog.
