Before it was a prompt for AI, there was a blog that begat a hashtag that eventually turned into a book and is now a quaint cottage industry — all swirling around snapshots that look like frames from a Wes Anderson film. (Wes has given his blessing and wrote a foreword to the book — more backstory on Variety.)

I quite enjoy these Accidentally Wes Anderson images and have never really tried to “make” one. It requires a magical combination of symmetry, detail, simplicity and a good dollop of post processing — oh, and flattening perspective.

Here’s my first attempt during a glorious Saturday of clear skies doing errands around town.

I didn’t see a movie at the Esquire this day, but thought this heavy edit would be a nice variation in the plethora of snapshots from over the years.
