Quokkas have such good PR. All the tourism articles, Instagram posts and ads picture them as joyous creatures. Sometimes they look that way but quite often they look like they’re pondering if they can be bothered murdering someone

It took 4 zoo visits and a lot of lurking around their enclosure but I finally properly saw the Melbourne Zoo Quokka!

Seems they really like naps and being antisocial (so relatable)

Bugger. I have enough annual leave for my week on #Rottnest in January (y'know, where the #Quokkas live).
But I don't have enough for the week between Christmas and New Year which I need for child supervision duties. Which means I need to tap my mother up for another favour.
I suppose that could be her Christmas present to me. I've bought her 4 tyres for her just-won't-die little car so I reckon that's about even.
